Winning Silver for the South West
It was a great honour last night to be on the Pier at Weston Super Mare with so many other businesses in all areas of tourism across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset and Gloucestershire, for the South West Tourism Awards.
After winning Gold Best B&B for Cornwall, we were excited to be entered into the South West Awards.
It’s great to be in a space where you can see, feel and share the passion for tourism so tangibly. It really is a lot of people all doing their absolute best for the regions they care about and want to sustain and the guests visiting; giving them the best possible experience.
We were utterly delighted to receive Silver out of the five levels of awards for Best B&B.
Since wining our Gold for Cornwall Award we had the privilege of seeing the judges comments and scores, which gave us an opportunity to make further improvements and enhancements. We have improved car park lighting, taken hash browns off the breakfast menu, increased our range of bedding to suit all kinds of allergens and had training in how to best meet access needs, among many more. We strive to continually improve so being part of this process is very important to us.
We have been keeping you up to date with many of the new things happening over the winter with new colours, textiles, beds, decking, wallpaper, furniture and groovy accessories. All this change makes us so excited for the season to hot up.
And of course, we are offering weddings as well this year and are currently building a new website to showcase what you can come to Lower Barns and enjoy, celebrate and lock lives. It’s a great extension to what we offer. We have always been about romance and are perfect for couples to spend precious quality time together but we also see groups of extended family taking time together and increasingly Hen Parties booking exclusive use and having afternoon tea, fun workshops, foraging expeditions for food and wine tasting. The list of things to do is always endless and happy.
Bookings are going well this year in our range of rooms. We think it’s a little bit special to have a wood burner in Cranny, a sauna in Nook and a gypsy caravan in The Hideaway.
As long as our guests love it, we will be happy.
It’s a big thank to our guests, who keep coming back and our lovely team that keep it all going, it’s a credit to you.
See you soon
