Giving new life to an old building
FROM DERELICT TO DIVINE
We found this beautiful building with brambles climbing through every wall and undergrowth through what was left of any roofs. There were chickens in what is now our dining room. Despite it’s derelict state, we could both see what it could be. That was in 1998. We had been travelling the world and our heads were full of the colours and beauty of other lands, although none more than Cornwall.
Making it perfect
A LABOUR OF LOVE
It was a hands on renovation and conversion of Lower Barns. Together we mixed the cement and shaped our dreams. While we were living in a caravan in the meadow, doing our day jobs and building by night, the magic of our beautiful home began to happen. It was then that the desire to share our space with others began.
Our son, Jake had arrived at that stage and our home was complete. We combined our passion for cooking, interiors, love of colour, gardening and creative building to set a stage to share. Our dreams have always been about being and doing our best and we are ever evolving with our designs and style and always giving of the highest standard of care. Lower Barns is about romantic indulgence with friendly personal service.
