We just love food and drink
Cornwall is well known for lots of wonderful things and food is one in particular. We simply LOVE food. Not only do we have fresh produce straight from the sea and our fields, we have skilled chefs and food festivals too.
This weekend, for 3 days starting on 26th September we have the Great Cornish Food Festival at Lemon Quay, Truro. This really is the place to find the very best that Cornwall’s talented, creative and ever inventive producers have to offer. Some of the finest chefs will be cooking up a storm for all of us to watch and learn. Nathan Outlaw, Jack Stein (son of Rick), Andy Appleton from Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall, and more top names will be taking part so that we can see, smell and taste.
This festival is not just for food lovers, it is intended to inspire growers, brewers, chefs and the producers of the future.
When you have finished at the Food Festival you can head over to the opening of the newly refurbished Old Ale House, featuring a brand new River Cottage menu and a selection of Skinner’s Brewery beers.
Why not catch the train back to St Austell and taxi to Lower Barns to really make the most of it.
Call us to book on 01726 844881.
P.S. Don’t forget that the Kneehigh Theatre are still at The Lost Gardens of Heligan, with their dark and magical performance of Dead Dog in a Suitcase – they are on til Sunday and guests at Lower Barns get a discount. It is a performance not to be missed!
