For the fresh approach, head south to Lower Barn (near St,Austell), a hidden gem of a B&B perfectly located for exploring the Roseland Peninsula, fishing villages of Mevagissey and Charlestown and the Eden Project. The Hayloft Hangout
This self contained wing has two levels. Downstairs is a super king size sumptuous bed which can also be split to provide two single beds. The en suite wet room is wheelchair friendly, with an accessible roll in shower (shower chair provided on request) and access to the main bedroom is via a ramp. The zingy colours and easy chairs make it a place you will want to spend time in for sure. Upstairs is a further bedroom with twin beds making this space ideal for families and friends to share.
Come on out to our garden where you will find more hiding places…
Sneak past the cactus in the courtyard into Nook when nobody’s looking and marvel at the craftsmanship and design flair you will find there. There is riotous colour everywhere with echoes of South America and a simple on trend industrial feel. The snug has a giant retro Smeg fridge and stylish chaise longue with flat screen TV and Mike’s clever recycled apple box breakfast bar/kitchen area will surely inspire you. Your own sauna awaits you in your private courtyard garden.
This heavenly hideout is hidden away in its own totally private garden and ideal for honeymoons. It has a beach hut feel but oozes luxury and vibrant colour from every pore. There is a super king bed with an ensuite bathroom with freestanding slipper bath and shower.
Creep into Cranny, through your own lovely south facing courtyard with striped deckchairs, olive tree and lavender and herb borders, evocative of Provence. Tiptoe through the double doors into the lounging space with easy chairs and your own wood burner for those chilly winter evenings when you want to sip a glass of bubbly by the fire after a bracing cliff top walk. Mike’s funky breakfast bar is crafted with recycled materials and oozes style along with the giant orange retro Smeg fridge – perfect for all those celebratory bottles of bubbly!
Wherever you choose to hide, you will never want to be found….
You will find our jacuzzi hot tub at the far end of the deck in a private, sunny spot. It is a perfect place to gather to ease those tired muscles after clifftop rambles or gather for a chat with friends in the evening over a glass of wine whilst star gazing.
We have a therapy room in the garden where you can spoil yourself rotten. It’s quirky( but you’re expecting that by now) and Mike has again indulged his passion for recycling spare bits of wood and making them into something amazing! There’s an earthy, native feel in here, perfect for letting go and allowing the treatments to reach the inner part of you.
Treatments must be booked in advance and our extensive list is available here. We also have a highly regarded professional physiotherapist available, ex Arsenal team sports masseur, John Kelly.

Tripadvisor quote April 11 2014
“Bestie’s Hen weekend” I really don’t know where to start…. From the very start until the very end it was amaaaaazing. We booked in January and stayed In the April. Jane and mike are a fab couple who own a little gem. Unfortunately Janie was away but mike was the hostess with the mostest ( having to entertain 11 ladies isn’t for the faint hearted but he did great). Alice ( mother- in- law) is also an absolute scream and provided us with many a giggle. We could all live there. I know that Lower Barns totally deserve every comment on trip advisor but being purely selfish I don’t want it to get too poplar else we will never be able to rebook!! We’ll done to you, we had an absolute ball and loved every second. Far too many things to comment on but every little touch was noticed and appreciated .11 out of 10.
If you are planning a wedding, have you thought about eloping to Cornwall… if you would like an intimate wedding for 2 to 20 people, we would love to hear from you. For loved up day sand starry eyed nights.
